PURPOSE:To obtain a stable image without having irregularities in a density by providing a thin layer forming member made of a flexible material and holding it so as to press-contact it to a toner carrier. CONSTITUTION:The thin layer forming member 1 has a function for uniformly turning the toner 5 carried onto the toner carrier 2 into a thin layer, so that the member 1 has the shape of a cylinder or a quadranglar prism, or so, and is filled with the flexible materials of silicone rubber, urethane rubber, nitrile butylene rubber, natural rubber, etc., from a surface layer to the central part. Then, the thin layer forming member 1 is fitted into a recess 7 provided on the wall surface of a developing device main body 8 surrounding the toner carrier 2, and comes into contact with the toner carrier 2, to flex, and imparts desirable press-contacting force to the toner carrier 2, so that the toner 5 is regulated. Therefore, a holding member, a screw, etc., are not required, and high precision is not required at an attaching position, etc., but uniform press- contacting force is imparted to the toner carrier 2. |
