PURPOSE:To develop the flash device which eliminates the need for a special power source capacitor for the gate voltage generating circuit of an IGBT element as to a flash device which puts an IGBT element in switching operation to automatically dim the light emitted by a xenon discharge tube 21. CONSTITUTION:The gate voltage generating circuit for the IGBT element 17 which is powered with the charged energy of a main capacitor 12 is provided and outputs a gate voltage in response to a light emission start signal to turn on the IGBT element 17 and also stops outputting the gate voltage in response to a light emission stop signal to turn off the IGBT element 17. |
