The optical bleaching agent can be used in the textile and plastic industries. It is bonded covalently in the polymer molecule, which provides stable bleaching of polymeric materials, resistant to subsequent liquid treatment and different solvents. The agent is a derivative of 4-alkoxy-naphtalimide and has the following general formula:<IMAGE>where A represents a methoxy or ethoxy group.
