The display matrix panel for obtaining high optical efficiency has orthogonal anode and cathode signal lines (31)(41) sandwiched between front and rear plates (10)(20) and insulated from the discharge space and from one another by overlying insulation layers (51)(52) thereon. The anode and cathode signal lines (31)(41) have integral anodes (30) and cathodes (40) which are bare of insulation, lying adjacent the anode and cathode line intersections. Barrier walls (60) extend along the top of the anode signal lines (31), for maintaining the required spacing between the front and rear plates. |
