SYSTEM FOR RECORDING AND REGENERATING VIDEO SIGNAL HAVING WIDE BAND WIDTH THROUGH NARROW BAND MEDIUM

PURPOSE: To provide a video signal processing system capable of transmitting and recording the video signals of the full resolution of a wide band width as the video signals of a limited band width and performing reception and reproduction with exchangeability by the conventional device of a narrow band width. CONSTITUTION: An encoder 10 encodes and processes the video signals to folded limited band video signals provided with the high frequency component of the spectrum of the band for which the low frequency luminance band component and amplitude of the limited band width are adaptively de-emphasized along with chrominance/dynamic signals by a narrow band reproducing device for the encoding of color components for high luminance band and dynamic signals transmitted, recorded and de-emphasis folded through a limited band video medium. A decoder converts encoded signals to the unfolded wide band video signals of re-emphasized and unfolded high band and low band luminance component base band luminance signals and displays the entire band video images. For the dynamic signals, input luminance is dynamically and adaptively filtered inside the encoder 10.
