A concn. absorbent for removing CO2 from industrial gases comprises: (A) at least one tert. alkanolamine, and at least one promotion additive comprising (B) at least one alkylene amine in amt. sufficient to increase the CO2 absorption rate by 25-200% or the CO2 loading of the tert alkanolamine(s) by as much as 70% in an aq. soln. contg. 25-65 wt.% H2O, the alkylene amine(s) having the formula H2N(CxH2xNH)nH, where x=1-4, n= 1-12, and the mole ratio of alkyleneamine to alkanolamine being 0.01-0.5. Specifically, x=2, n=1-12. |
