Bar lock for sheet metal cupboard - has retainer with bolt protruding from cupboard part, merging into head for bar support

A sheet metal cupboard (24), has a door (12) which is locked by a sliding bar (118). Part of the bar is formed by a channel section which as a keyhole slot (31) which receives the shank (15) of a guide bolt. The guide bolt has a spherical head (42) which fits in a matching recess (35) in the bar and holds it in its locking position. The lock can be released by sliding the bar so that the wide end of the keyhole slot is aligned with the spherical head of the bolt. USE/ADVANTAGE - For switch gear etc. boxes, with a profile combination for increased security.
