<p>PURPOSE:To increase a loss factor, to improve damping characteristic, and to provide a stainless steel foil for spring by precipitating and dispersing a precipitate in the surface layer. CONSTITUTION:A Cr nitride is dispersed and precipitated in the surface layer of a stainless steel foil, and particularly, the Cr nitride is precipitated and dispersed in the position at the prescribed depth (>=0.3% of the foil thickness) from the surface by controlling the temp. of dew point atmosphere in a furnace at the time of bright annealing and the amount of nitrogen in the atmosphere, respectively. By this method, the stainless steel foil for spring used for electronic equipment material, etc., and excellent in damping characteristic can be produced.</p> |
