摘要 In working up the cleavage reaction gas obtd. by thermal cleavage of 1,2-dichloroethane to vinyl chloride at 480-540 deg.C and 15-25 bar, opt. followed by cooling to 180-280 deg.C in a heat recovery stage, the reaction gas mixt. is led into a quenching zone in which it is cooled and washed by condensed cleavage gas. 80-99 wt.% of the cooled cleavage gas is withdrawn as gaseous top prod. and 1-20 wt.% of the cooled cleavage gas is withdrawn as liq. sump prod. from the quench zone, and the coke present in the sump prod. from the quench zone, and the coke present in the sump prod. is comminuted. The resulting dispersion is sepd. in a refining zone into a distillate and a sump prod. and the sump prod. is discarded, and the distillate from the refining zone is combined with the gaseous top prod. from the quench zone after this has been condensed. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process allows removal of the coke formed during the thermal cleavage, without the necessity of using a filter and without problems of deposition of the coke and possible blockage of the appts. The coke dispersion withdrawn from the appts. can easily be incinerated in a residue combustion stage for HCl recovery*
