For the actuating device for the handbrake of motor vehicles, which comprises a handbrake lever (1) swivel-mounted on a support bracket (2) fixed to the vehicle body and applicable against the load of a return spring (9), and a drive transmission device (3) connected to this for the actuating and control device of a wheel brake system and an automatically engaging retaining or fixing device, releasable by means of an auxiliary rod (22), in turn guided so that it is longitudinally displaceable in the handbrake lever against the load of a return spring, for the particular set adjustment position of the actuating or control device of the wheel brake system, it is proposed that the handbrake lever be coupled by means of a rocker lever (4) to the drive transmission device (3) acting on the wheel brake system and that an automatically engaging fixing device (5) decoupled from the handbrake lever be assigned to the rocker lever. ……
