<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal light valve which can form a high-contrast image and reduce the size of a device. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal light valve 10 is equipped with a light guide 11, glass substrates 12a and 12b, a transparent electrode 13, a clad layer 14, a metallic film 15, a photoconductor layer 16, a dielectric mirror 17, an electrode 19 for data transmission, orienting films 20a and 20b, and a liquid crystal layer 21. The light guide 11 is formed on the glass substrate 12a and a light signal for scanning is sent along the light guide 11. The transparent electrode 13 is formed on the light guide 11 and glass substrate 12a across the clad layer 14. On the transparent electrode 13, the photoconductor layer 15 which receives the light from the light guide 11 is formed. The electrode 19 for data transmission is provided on the glass substrate 12b. The glass substrates 12a and 12b where the orienting films 20a and 20b are formed are stuck together and a liquid crystal layer 21 is formed between the substrates.</p> |
