PURPOSE:To add a character for keeping secret to a color document without deteriorating the readability of document information by taking a set white as the color of the area without picture information. CONSTITUTION:The extraction means 40 of a picture processing part 10 extracts an area whose color of the color picture data of the document read by a picture reading means is set white as a background color area. Then, in a mark addition circuit 80, a picture data synthesizing means synthesizes the picture data formed by a character picture data forming means to the background color area extracted by the extraction means 40. Therefore, for example, when the set color is taken as white (the color of area without picture information), the character picture data is synthesized only in the background color area, the overlapping of the document information and the character picture data is eliminated, thus preventing the deterioration of the readability of the document information. |
