DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY MEASURING OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE:To enable an operation time to be reduced and at the same time man-hour required for treatment operation to be reduced by performing a series of operations from terminal treatment of an optical fiber to an optical measurement. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of holders 11 retaining an optical fiber 3 to be measured extended by a specified length are arranged in a holder pallet 10. A terminal-treatment device 20 treats a terminal of the optical fiber 3 which is retained at each holder 11. Namely. the device 20 extends a tip side of the optical fiber and eliminates a film by a desired length and then performs cleaning treatment of a yarn stock. When the terminal treatment is improper, a leadout device 30 pulls out the optical fiber 3 which is retained at the holder 11 by a specified length. A connection device 30 connects the optical fiber 3 whose terminal treatment is performed properly to a light source through a measurement fiber and then performs optical measurement by measuring light which is transmitted from the light source by using an optical measurement means. A carrier device carries the holder 11 which is arranged, thus enabling a series of operations from terminal treatment to optical measurement to be performed automatically.
