A fail-safe device for artificial respiration comprises a flexible film 5 having a centrally located non-return valve 1. The inlet part 2 of the non-return valve has a plurality of air inlet openings 26, which are distributed around the peripheral region of the inlet part close to the flexible cloth 5 and are exposed on the radially outward facing surface of the inlet part 2. The air donor is thereby forced to open the mouth wide and to make his or her lips, via the cloth 5, form a seal against the patient around the latter's mouth in connection with artificial respiration, thereby ensuring that the patient actually receives the air delivered by the air donor. <IMAGE> |
