PURPOSE:To provide a linear actuator wherein improvement of driving efficiency and simplification of a driving circuit are attained by improving a pressure contact property of a mover with a vibrator, in the case of the linear actuator wherein the mover brought into pressure contact with the vibrator is driven by vibration-exciting the vibrator with an elastic wave. CONSTITUTION:By constitution of bringing a mover 5 into pressure contact with a ridgeline part of an elastic unit 1 of polygonal (quadrangle) section pasting together first/second piezoelectric units 2a, 2b, no limitation is required at all for plane accuracy and parallelism or the like to obtain stable contact, and since a moving direction of the mover 5 can be changed by switching the first/second piezoelectric units 2a, 2b to apply AC voltage, a high efficient linear actuator of simple circuit constitution is obtained. |
