A self-adhesive laminate comprises (a) a film-forming polymer layer contg. a plasticiser, (b) an adhesive layer on the polymer layer, (c) a covering, removable carrier film on the adhesive layer and on the other side of the polymer layer, (d) a removable, covering protective layer resistant to the components of the laminate and the materials used in prodn. of the laminate. Pref. (a) the polymer layer is multilayered with a thickness of 25-200 (60-150) microns, with the layers opt. of differing compsn. The layer consists (partly) of nitrocellulose and/or polymers of (meth)acrylic esters esp. with 1-4C (1-2C) alcohols and/or dimethyl aminoethyl methacrylate and contains 1-30 (17-22)% of plasticiser, esp. an ester of citric acid. The layer may be formed of a commercial nail lacquer, free from camphor. Layers (a) and/or (b) may contain a perfume or an active material esp. an antimycotic pref. clotrimazole, miconazole, ketoconazole, econazole, naphtidine, fenticlor, sulbentine, tolnaphtate and/or haloprogin or a 1-hydroxy-2-pyridone of formula (I) where R1 = 6-9C hydrocarbon gp., free from C=C and CC bonds, one of R2 and R4 is H and the other is H, Me or Et, R3 is 1-2C alkyl. The adhesive layer (b) may be multilayer with flat wt. 20-100 (25-75) g/m2 and may contain an agent promoting penetration of the active substance into the nail, e.g. DMSO or DMF. (c) The carrier film has an aid for removal. (d) The layer is structured and comprises a film, pref. of a synthetic or a paper of flat textile, is transparent, and may be multilayered. USE/ADVANTAGE - The laminate can be shaped to the toe or finger nails (claimed). The laminate is comparable with nail polish w.r.t. gloss, hardness, flexibility and durability on the nail. It does not dry out or become brittle on storage.
