PURPOSE:To perform the lateral mode control using the gain in laser beams for mitigating the effect of higher dimensional mode to simplify the control for making the highly precise output control feasible in relation to the title spacial filter for laser oscillation. CONSTITUTION:In order to bake a transparent ceramic body 1 comprising the fine crystal of a laser medium 2, the concentration of active ions in the peripheral part or central part is to be intentionally specified. Furthermore, the title spacial filter is Gaussion type structured wherein said concentration in the central part is higher than one in the peripheral part. The distribution of the laser beams X caused by a lateral mode control may be mode to have a Gaussian type, and the higher the excitation intensity and output requirements the intenser the inclination, thereby enabling the control to be simplified for making the highly precise output control feasible. |
