PURPOSE:To provide reading mechanism which is thin and enables reading and original traveling. CONSTITUTION:At an adhesive image sensor 1, an oscillator 6 and a pressing block 9 are arranged in a main scanning direction with no gap so that the apexes of the central projecting parts of an oscillator 6 and a pressing block 9 can be coincident with a reading position 11. At such a time, when high frequency voltages shifting phases at 90 deg. each other are loaded to piezoelectric ceramics 71 and 72, the apex of a central projecting part 61 at the oscillator is elliptically moved. With this elliptical motion, an original 3 obtains driving force through frictional force and is conveyed in a direction E. Further, by adjusting the voltage due to a high frequency power source 8, reading is executed while handling synchronism between the reading speed of the adhesive image sensor 1 and the conveying speed of the original 3. |
