PURPOSE:To reduce manhours in manufacturing and to eliminate waste of ink by providing a simple structure without requiring installation of electrodes for detecting remaining ink amount in an ink tank for the title device which is normally manufactured in complicated construction requiring increased manhours because of installation of remaining ink amount-detecting electrodes in the ink tank, and in such structure that waste much ink when replacing the ink tank. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes for ink ejection 5a-5e and 6 serving as ejection means, and remaining ink amount-detecting electrodes 16 and 17 are provided to a substrate 4. As both the above-mentioned electrodes can be produced in a single process of work, manhours can be reduced. As only a small amount of electroconductive ink 1 is left between a nozzle plate 3 and the substrate 4 when the remaining ink amount-detecting electrodes 16 and 17 judge that the ink has run out, the ink is not wasted. |
