PURPOSE: To facilitate preliminary washing or preliminary treatment for surface treatment by irradiating the surfaces of a substrate composed of organic or inorganic substances with UV rays having a specified wavelength, thus exposing them to UV photons. CONSTITUTION: A substrate 1 is formed of organic or inorganic substances such as fibers or ceramic materials. High output irradiators 3 are arranged which are separated from the surfaces 1A, 1B of the substrate 1 by specified distances. Thus, the surfaces of the substrate 1 are irradiated with UV rays having 60-350 nm wavelength, thus subjecting them to UV photon processing. As a result, improvements which facilitate preliminary washing or coating for surface treatment or the like are attained. |
