<p>PURPOSE:To provide the matrix substrate which is improved in the contrast ratio at a single picture element by widening only the picture element area at the same pitch as heretofore. CONSTITUTION:This matrix array substrate is constituted by forming nonlinear resistance elements constituting three-layered structures consisting of a metallic layer-insulator layer-metallic layer in an array form on a substrate 11, disposing picture element electrodes respectively in series on the respective nonlinear resistance elements and further, connecting the respective row or column directions by plural wiring electrodes. The plural wiring electrodes are constituted by laminating the adjacent two wiring electrodes 13, 23 via insulating layers 17.</p> |
