PURPOSE:To obtain a process cartridge which suppresses the vibration of a photosensitive body to reduce charging sounds and prevents the uneveness of the cycle by setting the weight per unit volume of the photosensitive body to a specific value or above. CONSTITUTION:With respect to the voltage applied to a core bar 4a of an electrifying roll 4 by a power source 25, the oscillating voltage where an AC voltage is superposed on a DC voltage is preferable. The charging sound generating mechanism generated between an electrifying member and an electrophotographic sensitive body by applying the oscillating voltage is considered as the elastic oscillation of the photosensitive body due to the electrifying member. Consequently, it is thought that the oscillation absorbing effect is produced by adding the weight to the photosensitive body. In consideration of this phenomenon and the actual hearing effect, the weight to the overall volume (including a driving transmission part and a bearing part) of the photosensitive body is >=0.65g/cm<3> preferably. Further, it is >=0.80g/cm<3> preferably for the purpose of more stably obtaining the muting effect.
