PURPOSE:To provide a user dictionary registering device which is exact and easy to use in a voice synthesis device. CONSTITUTION:The word and its part of speech information to be newly registered in a user dictionary 8 inputted from a sentence input section 1 are stored in the buffer of the dictionary 8. Based on the contents of the buffer, an accent candidate is prepared in an accent candidate preparation section 19 in accordance with an accent rule 110 for every part of the speech. The accent candidate prepared in the section 19 is displayed on a screen at a display section 111 and simultaneously the candidate is provided in terms of a synthetic voice from a voice output terminal 6 through an acoustic processing section 4 and a synthesis processing section 5. A user chooses the accent among the accent type candidates shown by a screen display and a sound presentation using an accent select command 1B and the contents are stored in the buffer. Lastly, the user sends a registering command A and the word is registered in the dictionary 8. |
