<p>PURPOSE: To efficiently distinguish plural kinds of input signals to be simulated by an indication device. CONSTITUTION: An indication device 20 is moved across a touch screen 16 to generate position information. The movement of the indication device 20 is recognized as input information from a mouse, a gesture, or a handwriting input mode in accordance with the response of a delay timer. If stop of the movement on the screen is detected with a prescribed time delay, input information is received in the mouse simulation mode. If the movement is detected within the prescribed delay time, the timer is reset. Consequently, the overhead related to timer management is reduced because the timer is periodically reset.</p> |
