<p>A floor covering including a carpet structure (5) designed to be spread out on the floor (6) to cover it, in particular in areas which are passed over and/or stood on by animals. The structure (5) consists of a stack of at least three layers (1, 2, 3), namely upper (1), middle (2) and lower (3) layers of which the middle layer (2) is porous and highly absorbent and consists of resilient pellets (2a) held together by a binder (2b). The three layers (1, 2, 3) are joined by needle bonding. Said covering at least partially comprises a material for sealing the middle layer (2) from the floor (6) and preventing any exchange of liquids between said middle layer (2) and the floor (6). The floor covering may be used, e.g. in fitting out cattle stalls.</p> |
