PURPOSE: To provide a process for preparing thermoinsulating and/or structural formed articles without requiring using chlorofluorocarbon as a foaming agent to obtain a thermoinsulating voluntarily structural element. CONSTITUTION: This process includes at least one of following steps. That is, a preform 4 to be thermoinsulated is put on a heating mold 1, the temperature of a thermoplastic polymer plate or sheet 6 is raised to the softening temperature, and the plate or sheet is heat molded on the preform 4 to be thermoinsulated. Those steps are included in the process.
