METHOD FOR PREVENTING SURFACE FLAW OF STEEL CONTAINING COPPER AND TIN

PURPOSE:To enable use of scrap containing much Cu and Sn by improving the high temperature workability of steel slab containing Cu and Sn. CONSTITUTION:A coating agent containing the heat resisting glass whose melting point is at least 1300 deg.C or over is applied to steel slab containing copper and tin and the steel slab is charged into a heating furnace. After the coating agent is heated to the semi-molten condition in the heating zone, the steel slab is soaked in the soaking zone under the condition where the coating agent is solidified in a glass-like condition, preventing surface flaws of the steel containing copper and tin.
