PURPOSE:To provide a therapeutic agent used for diseases caused by the shortage of metals, containing the complex of a hydrolysate of a pectin having a polymerization degree of 2-9 with the metal or metals, having high absorbability, and useful as a rapidly absorbable, safe and fast-acting medicine. CONSTITUTION:A enzymatic or chemical hydrolysate of a pectin having a polymerization degree of 2-9 is reacted with a metal (especially preferably iron or calcium) in the liquid phase or in the solid phase to produce a complex of the formula [(n) is 2-9; M is a metal ion such as iron(II), Ca(II), copper(II), Mg(II) or K(I) ion]. The complex is used as an active ingredient to form a fast-acting medicine having a high absorption rate. |
