PURPOSE:To obtain a stabilized picture without deteriorating the flowability and chargeability of a toner by incorporating a specified monomer, its polymer or a copolymer of the monomer and a vinyl monomer into a polymerizable monomer. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable monomer is suspension-polymerized in an aq. medium to obtain the polymerized toner. A monomer shown by the formula, its polymer or a copolymer of the monomer and a vinyl monomer is incorporated into the polymerizable monomers. In the formula, R1 is H or alkyls, R2 is H, R3, R4 and R5 are H, alkyls or hydroxyalkyls, and (n) is an integer of 1 to 10. The ether and phosphate sites are present in the oil-water interface, hence the granular system is stabilized, and the grain size distribution is sharpened. Further, the charge-up of triboelectricity is prevented at low temp., because the ether and phosphate sites form a leak point. Accordingly, the chargeability and flowability of the toner are stabilized at low temp., and a good picture is stably obtained. |
