PURPOSE:To improve the degree of freedom of data utilization of pitch informa tion by automatically converting pitch information which is inputted from out side into pitch data corresponding to a pitch range wherein a musical tone can be generated and generating the musical tone when the external input pitch information has a pitch which can not be generated. CONSTITUTION:Pitch data from a pitch register 16 is passed through a pitch data converting circuit 22 and supplied as converted data to a key depression display circuit 24 and a musical tone signal generating circuit 26. When the pitch register 16 sends the pitch data out, a timbre register 18 sends timbre data out and an effect register 20 sends effect data out respectively; and the timbre data is passed through a timbre data converting circuit 32 and supplied as converted data to a timbre control data memory 34. A musical tone generating circuit 26 generates a musical tone signal according to the pitch converted data, the timbre control data and the converted data from an effect data converting circuit 36. If the pitch data from the pitch register 16 has the pitch which can not be generated by the electronic musical instrument, the pitch data is automatically converted into the pitch data corresponding to the pitch range wherein the musical tone can be generated. |
