<p>PURPOSE:To measure the shapes of pipes such as embedded gas pipes, water pipes and the like by the remote control on the ground by utilizing the difference in running resistances of a prob, which is running in the pipes, caused by the shapes of the pipes. CONSTITUTION:This prob 1, which is inserted into a pipe, directly advances in the pipe by the actions of driving units 3. There are the horizontal part, the vertical part, the slant part, the joint part and the bent part in the pipe. The prob 1 smoothly advances at the horizontal part. The running resistance of the prob is different at the vertical part and the slant part depending on the weight of the prob 1. The peculier vibrations are generated in the prob with respect to the joint part and the bent part. Therefore, when the load current of a geared motor is measured, the fact that the prob is running at a position in what kind of the state of the pipe is found. The position is found based on the extending amount of a cable 12.</p> |
