DIGITAL AUTOMATIC WHITE BALANCE CIRCUIT

Prim. colour digital signal components are multiplied by coeffts. supplied by a microprocessor and the prods. are applied to a colour difference matrix for combination and sepn. of luminance signals. The differences are sampled at the correct frequency and the samples switched into an integrating memory addressed by the microprocessor. The luminance signal is not enclosed directly but applied to difference generators whose remainders are compared for control of the switching. The circuit is useful for completely digital video camera. The white level is adjusted automatically as effectively as in an analogue counterpart.
