<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate overlap of recorded contents and unnecessary recording to effectively use a memory by automatically detecting a still picture and a moving picture. CONSTITUTION:The video signal inputted to an A/D converter 11 is inputted to a motion extent calculating circuit 21 to take out the difference between video signals different by one frame as the extent of motion of the picture. This extent of motion is normally given as several stages of digital quantities and is sent to a recording discrimination circuit 31. For the purpose of recording the picture with the extent of motion larger than a certain value, a recording discrimination signal is sent to a memory 41 to record the picture in accordance with the motion of the picture. The present picture and the recorded picture are switched by a picture switching circuit 51. The signal from this circuit 51 is switched to an analog signal by a D/A converter 61 and is sent to a display device 71.</p> |
