<p>PURPOSE:To select a retrieved image by retrieving the image having the feature value out of a metric space included in a range designated based on the feature value of the noted two-dimensional attribute information on a sample image and displaying the retrieved image in browsing on the coordinates of the two-dimensional attribute information. CONSTITUTION:A range of the metric space of the quantitative two-diemsional attribute information on the key word, the chroma saturation, the hue, etc., corresponding to a sample image is inputted through a terminal 15 as the retrieving conditions. A processor 12 refers to a control file 14 to extract an image name accordant with the retrieving conditions and then reads the image substance corresponding to the image name out of an image file 13. Then the processor 12 transfers the images to a display device 11 after reducing them if plural images are read out. The device 11 displays successively and in browsing the reduced images in the horizontal and vertical directions in a two-dimensional way. If a subject image having a high resemblance degree is included in the images, the image is selected through the terminal 15. Meanwhile the processor 12 reads the selected image out of the file 13 and transfers it to the device 11 with no reduction. Then the image is shown on the device 11.</p> |
