The tool retainer(40) provides an elastic mounting and clamping in an axial direction against the shrink section (14) of the machine tool chuck (20). The latter, in common with the retainer is rotary drivable. A headstock (28) has a rotary driven clamp (30) for the chuck to be clamped at its end (22) away from the shrink section (14). For the headstock a spindle sleeve (42) with a reception bush (42) for acceptance and centering of the tool is provided.
