The apparatus (170) further includes an idler support (174) for supporting idler assembly (14). Idler support (174) is coupled to contact portion (38) of load cell (30). Idler support (174) applies a downwardly directed force to contact portion (38) of load cell (30) to bend base (36) of load cell (30) in response to material moving on conveyor belt (24) over idler support (174) to change an output signal generated by load cell (30) in proportion to the weight of the material.
