PURPOSE:To carry out the coating excellent in adhesion without impairing the water repellent performance by subjecting one surface of a water repellent finished fabric to discharge treatment and ozone treatment or irradiation treatment with ultraviolet rays and then coating the treated surface with a resin. CONSTITUTION:A fabric composed of synthetic fiber or semisynthetic fiber such as a polyester, acrylic, nylon and acetate fiber or natural fiber such as wool, cotton or silk is subjected to water repellent finishing and one surface thereof is then subjected to discharge treatment such as corona discharge or low-temperature plasma treatment or ozone treatment or irradiation treatment with ultraviolet rays at <=300nm wavelength. The water repellency of the treated fabric is 100 score for the untreated surface and <=90 score for the treated surface according to a spray method of JISL-1092. The treated surface is then coated with a polyurethane-based, a polyacrylic, a polyvinyl chloride-based, a polyvinyl acetate-based or a silicone-based resin. |
