PURPOSE: To remove off-axis contrast and color slippage at the time of off-axis observation and to remove a parallax on a touch screen by adopting specific flat panel multi-layer structure. CONSTITUTION: The multi-layer structure of a flat panel LCD screen 80 includes one layer 74. Since the layer 74 is a specially designed and manufactured glass material and has both the characteristics of an optical fiber and a polarizer, the layer 74 called as a polarized optical fiber layer. The layer 74 in the structure 80 is used instead of conventional analyzer layer, upper glass layer and optical fiber layer and the layer 74 acting as an optical fiber material transfers an LCD image from an LC layer to the upper surface of the layer 74. Since an image is observed at a fixed visual angle (visual line 38) of 90 deg., a fixed 90 deg. angle of view is shown on the surface of the optical fiber and the observation of 90 deg. can be attained by a user also at the time of observing the layer 74 at an off-axis angle. |
