摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the surplus length processing mechanism which can feed out a coated optical fiber by a necessary amount and can improve the work efficiency in a coupling work of an optical connector by adjusting surplus length of the coated optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:In the surplus length processing mechanism for a coated optical fiber which is housed in an optical cable 5 and in which an optical connector 6 is connected to the end part, this mechanism is provided with a housing case 1 for a loop-like coated optical fiber constituted by leading an optical fiber unit 2 exposed from the optical cable 5 to its inside, winding it round like a loop, and thereafter, leading it out to the outside from a drawing-out port 1a, and stoppers 3, 4 provided in the optical fiber unit 2 on the front and the rear sides of the drawing-out port 1a as curvature prescribing means for prescribing a radius of curvature of this loop-like coated optical fiber.
