<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the operation when a device in playback mode is placed in recording mode by stopping the run of a recording medium automatically when the device is switched from the playback mode directly to the recording mode. CONSTITUTION:When a playback and a recording button are operated in playback mode at the same time, the tap stops traveling, an L-level signal is supplied to a terminal 60 to turn off switches 56 and 58, and an H-level signal is supplied to a terminal 66 to turn on switches 52, 53, and 63. Consequently, the reproduction of heads 50 and 51 is stopped and a video signal supplied to a terminal 65 begins to be recorded. The tape, however, is at a stop in this case. A signal outputted from a terminal 61 at this time is switched to a signal to be recorded. A user only operates a pause button at desired timing over a look at monitor to set the device in recording mode immediately. Consequently, a desired recording signal is recorded from a desired position of the tape.</p> |
