PURPOSE:To flatten a surface by covering the outer skin in a state that only an area adjacent to a head rest main body of wadding is allowed to protrud. CONSTITUTION:On a forming die for an intermediate product, a partition plate 1 for dividing wadding 5 and a head rest main body 6 is provided and a space 2 for inserting the wadding formed separately is present thereon. As for the wadding 5, a protruded part is formed in an area 8 adjacent to the heat rest main body 6. The wadding 5 is inserted into the space 2, a foaming forming material, for instance, a polyurethane foam original solution is injected into a space 3, the die is closed and forming is executed and an intermediate product is obtained. The intermediate product is covered with the outer skin 7, tension is imparted to the outer skin 7 and the head rest main body adjacent area 8 of the wadding 5 is held down by utilizing the presence of a clearance 4 and the part 10 is compressed by covering the outer skin and the surface becomes flat. Since the force required for flattening only the protruded part is very small, it is not feared at all that the wadding part swells like a hill and it is finished flatly on its external appearance. |
