FIELD: information technology.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to card reader, intended for use with card, which has substantially rectangular shape and which is moved in direction of its width and processed. Provided is cards reading device, which transports substantially rectangular card along its short direction and processes card, wherein, even in cases of processing, for example, card, on which magnetic strip is formed parallel to longer direction of card on its one surface and on which integrated circuit chip outer connecting terminal is formed on other surface, it is possible to provide contact pressure between outer connecting terminal and integrated circuit contact spring. Cards reading device comprises: magnetic head (7) and head drive, which displaces magnetic head (7) in width direction of transfer channel (5), and also moves magnetic head (7) between head adjoining position, in which magnetic head (7) has possibility of adjacency to card (2), and retracted head position, in which magnetic head (7) is retracted from transfer channel (5). In transportation channel (5) there is opening (28), through which magnetic head (7) passes during its displacement in direction of transfer channel (5) width.EFFECT: when integrated circuit contact spring (59) is in contact with card (2) outer connecting terminal, magnetic head (7) is located in position of head adjoining and adjoins one surface of card (2).16 cl, 17 dwg |
