A biodegradable crosslinked polymer which is a reaction product of a polymer having aldehyde-reactive functional groups and a polyaldehyde, wherein the polymer having aldehydereactive functional groups comprises a biodegradable structure or the polyaldehyde comprises a biodegradable structure.
