The packet has a flat base defining a base edge (8). The end flap (6) which has an end seam is folded at least partly onto the end side of the packet. A side flap (7) is formed whose rotary axis is defined through the base edge. Both the end flap and side flap have a cross-seam. For triangular cross-section bars, the end flap (6) extends from a corner point (16) of the triangle towards the base edge. The bar and wrapping material are brought together by a stepped rotating folding wheel. The longitudinal seam is sealed and the product transferred to a transport section where the end flaps are folded and sealed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Partic. for triangular bars. Faster process than conventional methods.
