SOLVENT WELDING OF SYNTHETIC RESIN SHEETS AND SOLVENT WELDING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To prevent wrinkling and wavy unevenness from occurring on synthetic resin sheets by controlling the hardening of the resin sheets when solvent- welded. CONSTITUTION:Sheets S1 and S2 are wetted before the feed thereof into a sheet conveyance path 6 with a liq. hydroxylic compd. such as water or an alcohol on the surfaces S1' and S2' thereof to be solvent-welded together. The surfaces S1' and S2' thus wetted are heated by heating units 71A, 72A, 71B and 72B. The heated portions of the sheets are pressed against each other with pressure rollers 8A and 8B.
