<p>PURPOSE:To provide a bright and thin flat panel display by using a distributed liquid crystal whose light utilization efficiency is high for a liquid crystal part, and constituting a back light of a very thin EL element and forming them integrally. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted by forming integrally, and inserting and holding a polymer network type liquid crystal layer in which a liquid crystal is distributed so as to be fetched into a three-dimensional mesh structure formed by a polymer, or a polymer distributed type liquid crystal layer 9 in which a granular liquid crystal 10 is distributed in a polymer matrix 11, and a liquid crystal element part having liquid crystal driving electrodes 8, 12, and EL element 2-6 between a pair of upper and lower substrates 1, 14.</p> |
