PURPOSE:To obtain a method for easily taking out spent fuel from a spent fuel clad tube and a device composed of simple structure therefor. CONSTITUTION:As a clad tube is fed in a condition to penetrate a ring-like electrode 3, an arc A is generated between the clad tube 1 and the ring-like electrode 3. A solenoid coil for magnetic field generation 5 is arranged on the outside of the ring-like electrode 3 and its magnetic line of force B crosses the are A. Rotation force is worked on the arc A through the magnetic line of the force B, the clad tube 1 is crushed by rotation arc and fuel 2 is taken out.
