<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a semiconductor position detecting element for detecting distances, which can detect the distance to an object without deteriorating the distance measuring accuracy. CONSTITUTION:At least one intermediate electrode d3 is provided between a pair of signal electrodes d1 and d2, which are provided on a semiconductor position detecting element (PSD) 50.
