MICROORGANISM FOR PRODUCING AMINO ACID

To obtain a strain producing L-leucine and L-arginine, a strain of Corynebacterium glutamicum (ATCC 13032) was mutated by UV and NTG. The mutated cell was washed with sterilized physiological salt solution and a 4-azaleucine resistant strain was selected by a minimal medium containing 4-azaleucine. The 4-azaleucine resistant strain was mutated by the same process and a mutant producing L-leucine and L-arginine was selected by a minimal medium containing L-arginine hydroxamate or 6-azauracil. L-lysine was manufactured by fed batch fermentation (30-32 deg.C, pH 7.0-7.2, 600-700 rpm, 0.5-1 VVM) using the mutant.
