PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive shock absorber wherein extending/ contracting side damping forces can be automatically and freely set to both equal and different values. CONSTITUTION:A rod side chamber A partitioned by a piston part 3 is opened/ closed to a piston side chamber B through the first check valve provided in the piston part, extending side controlling space S1 partitioned by electrode members 1, 10a, 10b and a flow divider valve 27 switched by a pilot pressure, similarly the rod side chamber A is opened/closed to a reservoir chamber R2 through a contracting side controlling space S2 partitioned by the electrode material and the flow divider valve 27, and the piston side chamber is opened/ closed to the reservoir chamber R2 through a supply circuit and the second check valve opened at extending time. |
